I don't goto deerpark ave alot anymore and have missed the recent ****** ave races but if your all going to meet up I'll hop in on that. My exterior is ALL stock so nothing fancy and its white with some rust circles on the hood. But underneath I got some stuff done that may keep me in the running.
 
Well, I have both cars but my talon is awd.
The funniest thing is my probe GT is pretty beat, the shocks, engine mounts, have a big hole in the exhaust, rock hard tires that are so old they are actually cracking. I stuck a boost gauge in with the vaccum hose through the window and I was running a solid 8 psi, I put in some race gas and ran it at the track, my best run was a 15.294@94 mph. My damn car is bone stock, I mean bone stock. Paper filter, stock bcs is in. Factory freak is what I'm thinking...if I had changed my engine mounts and shocks, I would probably be able to hit a 14 bone stock...geez
but I can compare it to my talon cause I've lots of mods on it...

yeah definetely. you need to do some mods in order to take advantage of upgraded turbo. you said it had intake, ok. it would need an upgrade upper intercooler pipe, which is hard to miss, and an upgrade BOV. Mabye he just had a 1G bov which isnt very flashy. If he had aftermarket exhaust, you defintely would have been able to hear it.

With just intake you can hear the stock BOV going off like crazy.

since it was brought up, we can do something this friday night. not 2 have any excuses but, were going to have to go from 2 because of my clutch:(.. but i'd be more then happy to get something going on. we have basiclly the same mods so it should be interesting;).
 
I dont know if my car will be back. I am hopefully bringing it to Bill this Wednesday. I wonder how long it will take, I doing those mods in my sig and then some maintenance crap.
 
Just to contribute...

He could very well have had an electronic boost controller like a Profec B or something. They're really easy to hide in the car, and easy to overlook under the hood.
 
the mods that your doing are the re-wire & the egt? if so you DEF should have the car back by friday. depending on how buisy he is. i still need to get my clutch installed (act2600) and my fuel pump (which i'll end up doing myself) replaced as well. let me know what you want to do. my car is way far from tuned right (since the porting) but i'm still good for a little race:).

now that i think about it i have seen your car in Bills shop.

Sal, Now there is a 50/50 chance of it going in this week. I need some more loot, so I have to sell my paintball gun and hopefully this guy buys it. He is also putting a new 02sensor,
YEa my car is the black 90, with the blackouts and it says Eagle Talon Turbo on the windshield, Since them I got some rims. So it will look a little bit different.

uh..When i still drove my 90 GS-T, there was a half a second turbo lag but after that the car gave a big rush, pulling you back to the seat..

I think you'd raced a sorry DSM driver who doesn't know how to race.

Case point: i smoked a GS once and although we were pretty dead even for the first 10 seconds, by the time my vtec spools in i'd beat him by a good 5 car lenghts.

Huh, you still don't get it.

Taken from the ConsumerGuide Car Review:

"The turbocharged GT is very quick, but it can be an unpredictable handful under hard throttle. The turbo's boost also kicks in too abruptly at low speeds."


I think you'd raced a sorry DSM driver who doesn't know how to race.
There's not much to driving skill when running on the roll along. He didn't get beat, it was even until high speeds. But we all know high speeds is not the DSM's good points.

This is a totally different car with different engine behavior. This is not a case in point.
