Re: MacGSX's Build 2009 **56K beware**

Hot!

Mind measuring the panel you put in the trunk for me? I'm gonna grab some aluminum and ditch the rusty wheel well in my car haha.

I can measure it for you but it isn't exactly square... All I did was cut it out then took a tape measure and measured the widest sides, got a square piece of steel and had my friend weld it in... It wasn't easy but if you have a decent welder it's not so bad. I'll take some detailed pictures of it for you.

Aaaaaahhhh, why did you use steel bro'? Aluminum held in with rivets or zoots would have been lighter and never rust. I did the same thing in my 93' then ripped it out and switched to aluminum after just a summer of driving.
I basically welded in a tic-tac-toe board w/stainless where the factory fuel tank was, then layed the aluminum over that with a hole for the cell sump. Like a sub-floor. Used those twist-lock screws to secure it and I saved 15lbs in the process.
I'm sure yours came out great, just breaking your balls about the aluminum.

I was going to use aluminum but didn't :( I did it more for looks and the ability to mount the cell nicely more than anything. I think I saved maybe a pound or 2 over what I cut out but it at least didn't add weight... lol. I also coated the metal so it shouldn't rust anytime soon.

I might have asked you before but do you tend any of the weekly meets in any of the local towns?(Middletown, newburgh, spring valley, etc)

Thanks Jordan. I just want a basic size as I need to buy the metal and then bring it out to my car (having no garage sucks). I'm going with aluminum though to lose a bit more weight.

Re: MacGSX's Build 2009 **56K beware**

So I bought a new bumper and really don't want to mold in the fog lights and have them crack down the road with the ridiculous temp changes the car see's where I live. I also cant pick up a pair of CF covers for the bumper so I decided to try something out. It looks like shit because you can see the outline of the hole but for now I think it looks better than just empty fog light bezels.

Not perfect but hey... I plan on modifying an extra set of bezels I have and wrapping them so you can't see the outline...

Re: MacGSX's Build 2009 **56K beware**

I dig it. I bought some fog bezel's from a member here used that had a kind of carbon cover on them but they are a little more scratched than I thought so never installed them...

Yeah, sometimes. Mostly just to run though. I think I may have just showed up and parked to hang out like 5 or 6 times. I use to go out to Middletown and Newburgh quite a bit with my green 93'. Ran some dude with a green Chevette with a nitrous fed small block and another guy that you may know. Les with the red Talon. I mostly went out to Newburgh,Wappingers Dunkin Donuts, and sometimes Danbury CT. The plaza with the Starbucks near the park and ride. Thats where we use to run like every weekend. Once the piggies caught on it died for a while. Have'nt had the silver 92' out to anything yet. But I'm probably going to bring it to the next couple of shows. I want to bring it to the next Good Guys show in Rhinebeck at the fairgrounds. There has been a lot more imports showing up. Last year there were a few Skylines and Supras.

Soo, No big plans so far this year. Just been trying to tune it to 40psi with meth... Held off on installing the carbon doors and hatch till winter after my new cf hood went through my windshield... Plans are to tune it on the street till the shootout and take it easy.

ECMLink I'll admit is far from accurate on the HP/TQ readings, but after correctly entering all the correct attributes, it's reading >560hp at 29psi and 7* of timing. I'm hoping at 40psi she is over 600 come dyno time.

See you at the shootout! She'll be the Red sexy bitch sitting on slicks, leaking everything, with a pile of beer cans next to her, lol. :D

I don't get it? :dunno:
No street racing debates please... However, I do enjoy making some runs on the streets to embarrass some of the **** that hang out at our local weekly car show... Once I started showing up on the slicks (short ride from my house) nobody would give me the time of day to set up a race... So I took them off...
